Kenilworth Listening Exchanges
Listening Exchanges are a way of sharing experiences and opinions with the purpose of listening and connecting to others in our community. Offering someone else uninterrupted time to talk, even a few minutes, is a generous gift. We give our full attention without speaking, resisting the urge to comment, judge or advise. We listen and try to learn from each other in the encounter - even if we may disagree - using the opportunity to practice the skill of active listening. Many say the exchange is different and rewarding as they hear perspectives from a diverse group of people. We have a facilitated group, usually 7 or 8 people and a number of simple ground rules which facilitators explain. Everyone is welcome to express themselves; we respect and value each other.
It's free.
Listening Exchanges happen once a month on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 8:15pm, hosted by Kenilworth Town Council at Jubilee House, Smalley Place and once a month on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 10am, hosted by the 'Coffee Pot' at Abbey Hill United Reformed Church, Abbey Hill.
